Development Centre Overview
What happens in Cornwall?
Players take part in a range of training sessions to develop their skills and begin to stretch them beyond school and club hockey. This is the entry point into the Player Pathway System.
How do I get involved in Cornwall?
- Players are nominated by their school or club to attend a Development Centre
- Players can be nominated from the age of 11-14 (Year 6 to Year 9)
- Players who want to play more hockey and develop their skills outside of school or club hockey should attend a Development Centre
- Development Centre’s are held at Pool, Truro and Bude for U12 and U14 age groups
What are the entry and exit points?
Players can join a Development Centre at any point however the Cornwall Centre’s will run in May and June each year. Some player will progress from the Development Centre to an Academy assessment day which are organised for September, otherwise players are signposted back to their school and club.
