County Cup and Plate Finals a success

First up was Caradon 3rd XI v Falmouth 2nd XI in the ladies plate umpired by Paul Oxford and Stuart Richardson. Falmouth came out the eventual winners 2-1 despite valiant efforts by the east Cornwall side. This set up the ladies plate for a possible double by Falmouth
Next Newquay 1st XI v Falmouth 1st XI umpired by Luke Jeffery and Glayne Price. Newquay had already gained promotion back up to Prem 2 league where Falmouth had already finished well within that league. Hotly contested Newquay came out eventual winners 3-2.
The men’s fixtures were always going to be a testing affair with Duchy and Truro meeting in both competitions.
The recently promoted Duchy 2nd XI v Truro 2nd XI umpired by Viv Cobner and Dom Chatfield finished 4-2 in favour of the Truro side but this doesn’t suggest how close the fixture was. The final match of the day was left to Premiership side Truro against also recently promoted Duchy umpired by Marcus Alleyne and Ged Millward. Another well contested fixture finishing 3-1 to Truro giving them the double.
All in all a great display of hockey was on show giving supporters a lot to cheer about! Thank you and well done to everyone involved.
